IN last weekend's Xela Scaffold Grouse Trophy, joiner David Cassidy nailed together a good score to beat another up-and-coming youngster, Callum Marshall, by a stroke.
Cassidy's handicap has now been sawn in half.

But spare a thought for Neil Bunyan, who holed out several times in the quarry before finally holing out at the eighth – in 15. He had a good second nine, though.

Results: 1, D. Cassidy net 62; 2, C. Marshall 63; 3, P. McVie 64; 4, E. Macfie 66; 5, A. Wheelans 67. Twos Sweep: B. Carruthers, I. Clark, M. Wood and D. A. Heard.

On Sunday, the club held their Open Mixed Greensomes, sponsored by Four Seasons Catering. Results: 1, M & D. Walker 64.4; 2, W. Mirtle & J. Coyle 67; 3, D & D. Cassidy 67.2. Scratch, J & A Ker.

The Club Championship began on Monday night.
