PUB LEAGUE
SELKIRK'S Pub League got underway on Friday – despite the shortage of pubs.

The closest encounter was that between the Ex-Standard Bearers and the Babychams, which the Standard Bearers clinched by a single shot at the last end.

In their debut a
ppearance, The Southern Reporter started well, faltered in the middle and left their come-back just too late, going down 7-12 to a balanced Town Arms outfit.

With the Merchant Company showing early promise with a convincing victory over the Fleece and the Tory Club and the Masons also showing fine form in their match, the competition is showing all the promise of a closely-run finish, even at this early stage.

Fleece 3 Merchant Company 20; The Southern Reporter 7 Town Arms 12; Babychams 10 Ex-Standard Bearers 11; Tory Club 11 Masons 15.

Tonight's fixtures: Merchant Company v Town Arms; Fleece v The Southern Reporter; Ex-Standard Bearers v Tory Club; Babychams v Masons.
